Leopoldo Hotel is a wonderful Tuscan Villa built to the beginning of the 20th century in front of the Castiglioncello sea, the most beautiful and well – known Etruscan coast ’s promontory.

Leopoldo Hotel provides a nice garden where you may relax having your breakfast covered by the pines shadow or reading the Castiglioncello Festival program remaining for all the summer time and offers every day nice and interesting events.
It is also possible having a guide, to rent mountain – byke, riding school, sail, tennis and football courses.

Leopoldo Hotel is 20 Km far from Livorno, 35Km from Pisa and Volterra, 45 minutes from San Gimignano and Massa Marittima and 50 minutes from Florence.
In CASTIGLIONCELLO from May to September there are at least ten different bathing establishments from 60 to 500 metres, where you can rent deck chairs, sun beds, beach umbrellas. Best bay is BAIA DEL QUERCETANO: you will find Bagni Roma (www.bagniroma.it: offers special rates to our guests) and Bagni Italia (www.bagniitalia.it), with bar and restaurant. We suggest you also to go to "spiagge bianche" between Rosignano and Vada, at only 4 kilometres far from HOTEL LEOPOLDO: it is a wonderful public white sand beach for a tropical suntan, with a school of windsurf and kitesurf. If you need in Vada a bathing establishment with parking, bar, restaurant, LA PINETINA offers special rates to our guests (www.lapinetinavada.it).
You will find a sailing school at only 80 metres from Hotel Leopoldo, a Cala de' Medici tourist port in Rosignano Solvay is far only 2 km (www.calademedici.net): this port offers 650 berths (10% of which are reserved for transit), a naval shipyard, Yacht Club Cala de Medici (www.yccm.it), a large parking area, a village for commercial activity with bars and restaurants. A tennis court is far only 200 metres from HOTEL LEOPOLDO; you need only 3,5 km for a horse-riding school in Rosignano Solvay. Our Hotel was built to the beginning of the 20th century when the young Macchialioli painters spent their summer holydays in the Diego Martelli ‘ s home.
Till than the need to spend the summer holydays on the Etruscan Coast was more and more strong and Castiglioncello was considered the pearl of the Tirreno sea making the Flowered Coast an irresistible recall.
Pirandello and also other important guests were fascinated by the charming colours of the sea and of the maquis spending their time on the “Bagnetti” beach.
Thanks to the important Macchiaioli school the most interesting masterpieces of Giovanni Fattori, Odoardo Borrani, Telemaco Signorini, Persiani, Silvestro Lega, Giuseppe Abati have been painted in Castiglioncello at the Solferino residence or in the surroundings. It was for Castiglioncello an age rich of poets, artists, actors and politicians.
Vittorio Gassmann, Marcello Mastroianni, Alberto Sordi, Giovanni Spadolini, Enzo Trapani and others famous people enjoyed Castiglioncello since the beginning of the century till today.
